Guy de Maupassant was a prolific 19th century French writer who is also considered as the ‘Father Of Short Story Writing’. His stories reveal the various aspects of French life during his times. A number of his stories also highlighted the Franco-Prussian War and revolved around the lives of innocent people who were party to it. Guy de Maupassant is along with O. Henry and Y. L. Peretz one of the great short story writers. This 1903 book contains de Maupassant's stories from his ten books. The book contains 1003 pages, but the stories are written in two columns on each page so in essence it is over 2000 pages, a wealth of material to enjoy. Henri Ren Albert Guy de Maupassant (Aug 5, 1850 - Jul 6, 1893) was a popular French author who wrote under the pen name Guy de Maupassant.He is considered one of the fathers of the modern short story as well as one of its finest practitioners.
